…...…….a record
Hello 2020.
I don’t know about you, but I personally could not wait for 2019 to be over. We had so many highs and lows, with the lows always more potent and stinging. This year I’d like to settle more, to find peace, to do some more soul searching, do more traveling, and take more time for quiet reflection. I won’t share my resolutions because, well, that’s just not me, but I will say that I plan on giving myself more attention and more forgiveness this year. Happy New Year friends.
Portraits. Simple.
Sure, we live near the Rocky Mountains and can go outside to photograph in some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country. But sometimes, some of the most beautiful locations can be right in our own homes. Just the right light, the right background, and the best subjects in the world.
as always. #makeportraits
A double digit milestone.
More often than not I find myself thinking about how unbelievable it is that I have a ten year old. Or that in just five years this kid will start to drive, or in eight years she will be off to college. It is mind boggling to me - I really have no words for how foreign this feeling is, but what I do know is that there is this lingering mild form of panic, a little confusion, and a smidge of sadness that I find myself plagued with every time she does something new and on her own. I find me here having to remind myself of the good parts of this growing up business. The excitement, the journey, the knowledge, and the life that she will make for herself. It will be okay, mom. It will be OKAY!
A field full of flowers.
Just kidding. This was off a path behind our house. In a ditch. It took all of the bribery in the world to get her to lay down. Because bugs. But eh…worth every ounce of whine.
RiNO {Denver, Colorado} Photo Walk
I recently had the opportunity to meet up with some fellow photogs from the area. We walked around the RiNo district in downtown Denver, which I must say, has drastically changed since the last time I was there. It has been at least 15 years. It did not look like this when I was 15 years younger, running around having fun. It's a new kind of fun now (and much more tame).
My favorite part of the photo walks are the behind the scenes shots of everyone else actually taking photos. And of course, photographing my own kid, which I don't get to do much these days. Here are some of my favorites.
